Swim Instructor
Job Description
The Abington Club is looking for swim instructors who are energetic, positive role models, and have experience teaching swim lessons. Our program is designed for children 2 years and up. Flexible schedules built at time of hire with your supervisor. Classes are offered 7 days a week.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Plan, organize, and implement swimming and water safety classes
• Learn, monitor, and enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
• React to and handle emergencies in a safe and effective manner
• Administer first aid, CPR, and AED as needed
• Perform work in an efficient, effective, safe, and timely manner
• Demonstrate strong customer service skills and establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships
• Cell phones are not permitted while on guard duty
Requirements
• American Red Cross Lifeguard certification
• Childcare clearances
• Ability to instruct swimming lessons
• Knowledge of swimming strokes and teaching levels
• Must be at least 15 years of age
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work without supervision
• Available to work weekends
