HIIT Class Benefits

Why a HIIT class is right for you

Are you looking for a HIIT class near Jenkintown, PA 19046 in Abington, PA? You’ve come to the right place.

What is HIIT?

(High Intensity Interval Training) HIIT Classes involve alternating between short periods of intense workout and recovery periods. One of the best advantages of taking a HIIT class is that you get the guided benefits of working out, but in a short amount of time. This class is perfect for someone who wants the benefits of exercise, but doesn’t have a lot of time.

Interesting Fact:
More than 60% of Americans do not get the recommended amount of physical activity. This can result in poor physical and mental health.

HIIT classes at The Abington Club are 45 minutes, which may not seem like a long amount of time. However, the intensity can provide almost double the amount of benefits compared to a moderately intense workout.

Burn Calories - Even after your workout is complete

You end up burning the same amount of calories as a traditional exercise session, but in a shorter amount of time. Your metabolic rate increases and by increasing your metabolism, your body ends up burning more calories hours after the exercise. Some studies even suggest that by adding HIIT into your routine, your body will begin to use fat as energy, instead of carbs.

Improve Oxygen Consumption

EPOC (Excess Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption) or that “after burn” you feel after a good workout. HIIT can improve the way your body consumes oxygen after a workout to restore itself. Repair muscle damage by working with protein, as well as restore normal body temperatures.

Reduce Heart Rate and Blood Pressure

Physical activity is recommended for preventing, treating and controlling high blood pressure. A study shows a decrease in heart rate and blood pressure in adults with hypertension.
